Dare to live in a Monkey's Way!!!

On Popular Request of my Sisters!!!

Yes, I am back with another open page...
And this time the page is dedicated to Monkeys (M's) of my Home town :-)

My home town is surrounded by hills and mountains and keep on changing their colours in every season. The only thing remains same is the highly intelligent and at time irritating inhabitant of these hills, Monkeys (in oriya we called them Mankad)!!! These notorious creature are having free access to everyone house There. Most of the time they act like unwanted guest of your house who need your attention till they leave. Earlier our home was having numbers of doors and huge open verndahs ,like the heart of the people staying there, Huge and Open :). So as kids we had ample place to play without parents standing our head to justify right and wrong. We were lucky to avail that freedom and so as the Monkeys of my place.

Early in the morning, they loved to attack my Dadima's vegetable factory on our backyard for their breakfast and that was what made my Granny upset for rest of the day.Not only that, more hilariously She was teased by the monkeys all the time, monkey used to pull her Sari, broke her mirror, took away her Lal dantmanjan and what not. Many times the idiotic animal took away her bath towel, went and sat on the top of the roof putting the same on his head and Maa kept standing on the verndah, staring and talking to them angrily (she didn't know how to abuse) till the animal threw her towel back.

Most of our neighbor loved to tease each other by informing that so and so things of  their "Padosi" is laying on their roof top or backyard :-))))) and then an hour huge session on Markat Gatha over a cup of tea. (mostly ended on laughters and with request to visit their place to collect the things thrown by M's)!!! In the afternoon, when the small town fall asleep for an hour or so, Monkeys act as the Ruler of the City. We kids (specifically Me) kept on hauling and shouting on the site of them all the time. (sad monkeys can never made me understand that 'baby, no need to shout,we both are one and same).

All my cousin when came to my home during the summer vacation, clearly experience the Zoo. Monkeys all over the place. There were numbers of instances when our alfresco rooftop sleeping arrangement turned to dumping zones of half broken dreams early in the morning due to the M's group entry with warning to vacant the place for them. (I wish I could have done the same to few Stubborn  Mumbai House-owner to extend my stay more than a year without much raise in rent).

With all the complains, anger and irritation, people of my town have accepted these animals as a part of their life. They used to say " The hills will feel lonely, if these monkeys will go away, let them be there". And I being a Super Dhenks....owe a lot to these M's. The M's have given me a huge lesson in life. As per them, whether someone thinks that you don't deserve to share the same space and rights they are enjoying, it doesn't really matter. As far as, you consider yourself as a part of the universe, you have all the right to move anywhere, earn your livelihood and live happily forever (without attacking planted vegetables of others in more humane way-LoL). If they bother you much, show your Teeth and Nails like M's, but never hurt them. Later or sooner You , me and Monkeys will make all understand that we all deserve the Universe, so let's erase the Border lines.

Dare to live in a Monkey's Way!!!

With Love,
Amrita
